We will have a 15 minute parents meeting at the same time the tryout begins for each grade level. We need a parent from each player to remain present for the meeting. We will cover timelines, expectations, program information and also information about our girls summer program at that meeting.
All players must tryout in order to be considered for a team. We will use tryouts to evaluate all of the players and then place them on a team that is right for them, based off of the current skill level and development. Our goal is to place every player so that they are on team that that challenges them the most, but allows for as much success as possible at the same time.
Our priority is to place as many girls as possible in the program. We will do our best to accomplish that again this year. Game leagues and tournaments throughout the area will allow us to place girls teams that can play competitively at the bronze level or higher. We typically have teams at gold level, silver level and bronze level at each grade level. All players that evaluate as bronze level or higher will be placed on a team within the Elkhorn Elite program. Our gold, silver and bronze level teams will either play in the Conqueror Girls Basketball League or Omaha Sports Academy Predator League.
The cost of the 2014-2015 season is $450 for a new player and $350 for a returning player. New players will be issued a new uniform that includes a game jersey, game shorts and warm-up shirt that are theirs to keep. Returning players can purchase replacement pieces separately if needed. Each player/team will also get a Fall and Winter league next season, 4 tournaments, including the Elkhorn Elite Girls Rule tournament, top-quality team equipment, practice time over Christmas break, and more. Parents with more than 1 player in the Elkhorn Elite Girls program will get a $75 discount per player. Feel free to forward this information to anyone who may be interested in being a part of our program. Players must live within the Elkhorn Public Schools district to be considered.
